Therapy
Therapy that feels human
Therapy doesn’t have to feel intimidating. My goal is to create a space where you can feel comfortable, talk honestly, and feel genuinely heard. Here’s a little about who I work with, how I approach therapy, and what you can expect when you come in.

How I work
I look at the whole person, not just the symptom: what you're experiencing now, where certain patterns may have started, how your relationships and family have shaped you, and then practical tools to help you create change.
- How I connect with youPerson-centered
- The relationship matters most to me. I want you to feel genuinely heard, understood and safe, without feeling judged or immediately "fixed." Meaningful change begins when you have a place to be honest about what you're experiencing. That's the heart of The Listening Room: a place to talk, and a place to be heard.
- How I understand what you're going throughFamily systems & attachment
- I rarely look at a problem in isolation. I want to understand the relationships, family experiences and patterns that shaped you: early experiences, attachment, family roles and even generational patterns can influence how we think, behave and connect today.
- What happened, not just what's wrongTrauma-informed
- Difficult experiences can affect our emotions, relationships, behavior and the way we see ourselves and the world. I want to help you understand the connection between what you've been through and what you're struggling with now, and then move forward in a healthy way.
- Practical tools for changeCBT & ACT
- We'll look at how your thoughts, feelings and actions connect and build healthier ways of responding. I also help clients make room for difficult emotions without letting those emotions make their choices, which is especially helpful with anxiety, perfectionism and people-pleasing.
- Couples & relationshipsEFT & attachment
- With couples, I pay attention to the patterns between two people: how each of you responds when you feel hurt, disconnected, rejected or misunderstood. Together we recognize those cycles, understand the emotions underneath them and find healthier ways to connect and communicate.
What to expect
What therapy with me actually looks like
I'm not someone who is going to sit across from you, barely speak and just take notes. I'm conversational. I ask questions. I listen. I want to understand the whole picture, and I also want you to leave feeling like the time we spent together was useful.
There is absolutely clinical work happening underneath all of that, but I still want therapy to feel human. A lot of people are nervous about starting therapy because they don't know what they're walking into. That's okay. We'll figure it out together.
Parents & teenagers
Control vs. connection
As our kids get older, it can be really easy to tighten our grip when what they actually need from us is connection.
There still have to be boundaries, expectations and parenting. But sometimes we become so focused on controlling the outcome that we stop listening to what our kids are actually trying to tell us.
A big part of my work is helping families keep that connection and communication open, especially during the teenage years.
